The town we work in most
Dalton is where we are based, and it is where most of our work happens. That has a practical consequence for anyone here: we are minutes away rather than an hour, which matters for the estimate visit, for the day a delivery turns up, and for the phone call three months later when you want something looked at.
The housing here spans a wide range. There is dense older stock close in around the city, built long before anyone was thinking about garage space or covered parking, and there are ranch homes and larger properties spreading out toward Rocky Face, Varnell and Tunnel Hill with real land around them. Those two groups call us for opposite reasons. In town the question is usually how to get more out of a house that cannot get any bigger — a garage conversion, a bathroom rebuilt properly, a covered porch on the back. Out toward the county line it is post-frame: a carport, a pole barn, somewhere to keep a camper out of the sun.
Dalton has been a manufacturing town for generations, and a lot of the houses we work on were built for people working shifts. They are solid, straightforward buildings, frequently single-story, and they respond very well to the kind of work we do — there is usually room to add covered space, and the roof structures are simple enough that a porch or a carport can be tied in without a fight.
- We are minutes away. Based on West Waugh Street. The estimate visit, the delivery and the follow-up call are all local.
- Whitfield County permitting. We will tell you what we understand applies to your site, and whether it differs inside the city limits.
- Post-frame out toward the county. Carports, pole barns and RV covers on properties with land, from Rocky Face out to Varnell.
- In-town remodeling. Garage conversions, showers and additions for houses that cannot get any wider.
- Room additions. Bump-outs framed and tied into the existing structure, across the city and the county.
- Our reviews are from here. The people who wrote our Google reviews are your neighbors. That is the whole reputation.

This is our home ground
We know how the ground falls in most parts of the county, what the older housing stock is built like, and which suppliers actually deliver on time here.
Fast to get to you
A local builder answering the phone and getting to your house the same week is worth more than a marginally lower quote from an hour away.
The whole range in one crew
Carport, shower, deck, porch or addition — the same people, one number to call, one price.
Our name is on it locally
In a town this size the work speaks for itself. Every job here is one our next customer will drive past.
Dalton Questions
For most of what we build — carports, pole barns, decks above a low height, additions and conversions — yes, and the requirements inside the Dalton city limits are not identical to unincorporated Whitfield County. We will tell you what we understand applies to your specific address when we come out and quote it, rather than leaving you to find out afterwards.
Usually within a few days for an estimate, and faster for anything urgent. Being based in town is the whole advantage here — we are not fitting you around a two-county drive, and if you need us back after the job we are twenty minutes away rather than an afternoon.
It splits by where you are. Closer in, garage conversions, bathroom remodels and covered porches, because the houses are on smaller lots and cannot easily grow outward. Further out toward Rocky Face, Varnell and the county line, carports, pole barns and RV covers, because there is land to put them on.
Yes, and a good share of our remodeling is exactly that. Older houses reward being opened up carefully rather than quickly — framing is not always where you expect it and previous work is not always as it should be. We tell you what we find, with photographs, and price it before we carry on.
Our work is residential and light building work rather than commercial contracting, and we would rather say so than take on something outside what we do well. If you have a small building that needs a remodel or an outbuilding put up, ask — but for a commercial fit-out or a large industrial project we are not the right call.
Yes, and that is why they are worth reading. They describe specific jobs — a custom carport, a covered patio and a fence, a garage converted into two bedrooms — done for people in this area. We would rather you read those than take our word for anything on this page.
